While the Village proper is very small, the Greater Weymouth Area (GWA) encompasses many smaller neighboring communities from exits 27 & 28 on Hwy 101 to areas south-east reaching to trunk routes #1and #340 as well as areas east of the mouth of the Sissiboo River. Weymouth has a great deal to offer visitors, residents and industry.
Location: Digby County between the Trunk 1 exit in Weymouth (Exit 27), and the existing Digby interchange (Exit 26) Class : II Highway 101 Extension – Digby to Weymouth North, At Weymouth , Trunk 1 re-appears, and continues south along the coast through the Municipality of Clare to its end in downtown Yarmouth on Main Street at the ferry terminal to Bar Harbor, Maine where it meets the Trunk 3. History. Trunk 1 is the oldest major road in the province of Nova Scotia.
Construction of the Highway 101 Digby to Marshalltown corridor is the first phase of the future Highway 101 controlled access corridor from Digby, at Exit 26, to Weymouth North, at Exit 27. This is the only segment of the 300 kilometre-long Highway 101 that has not been upgraded to a 100-series controlled access standard.
